Carolina downs Titans as offense continues to struggle

Matt Moore completed 18-of-33 passes for 190 yards as Carolina's offense continued to struggle. The Panthers, who improved to 1-2 in the preseason, have yet to score an offensive touchdown.

Rookie Jimmy Clausen connected on 4-of-5 passes for 79 yards. Goodson carried the ball four times for 30 yards for Carolina, which got three field goals from John Kasay.

Starting quarterback Vince Young completed 6-of-9 passes for 48 yards for the Titans, who fell to 1-2 in exhibition action. Kerry Collins connected on 6- of-10 passes for 112 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

Jared Cook caught a 35-yard TD pass for Tennessee, which got 59 receiving yards from Marc Mariani. Chris Johnson was held to 10 yards rushing on eight attempts.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
